From the developers of the critically acclaimed Tap Tap Revenge, comes a new, innovative series. Riddim Ribbon is a racing and music game for iPhone and iPod Touch. The game comes with 3 songs from Black Eyed Peas, “I Gotta Feeling”, “Meet me halfway” and “Boom boom pow”. It is available for $2.99.

In 2009, music games were on a third of all iPhone’s and iPod Touch’s , with the majority being Tap Tap Revenge. Tapulous has recognized this, and decided to release a new variant of music game. Tapulous Chief Executive, Bart Decram, and Black Eyed Peas singer and producer, will.i.am, both were involved in the idea of the game. In a statement released by will.i.am, he said “I am so excited about this game. It makes you re-think the concept of playing a song. It makes you re-think the remix.”

Riddim Ribbon is less passive than Tap Tap, as now the player has more interaction with the music. Whilst the player is rolling a small ball along a “road” which moves in the beat of the music, the player has to keep in mind that the further the ball moves off the center of the road, the music will slow down and eventually make a screeching sound. Another feature which interacts with the music is a forking feature. When the road forks, players will need to choose a direction which in turn changes the mix of the music. Points are earned by keeping the ball in sync with the road.

If players get tired of the same levels within the game, they can choose to buy more levels (songs) through in-app purchases. Some of the extra songs include Benny Benassi’s “Satisfaction,” along with “Louder than Boom” and “Escape Me” from Tiësto, each for 99c. Riddim Ribbon is out now, and available to buy on the App Store for $2.99
