No Dante’s Inferno Release For Middle East

It appears that the release of Dante’s Inferno doesn’t stand a chance in Hell in the Middle East. Citing “an evaluation process which is based on consumer tastes, preferences, platform mix and other factors”, EA has decided to deny the availability of the game. While some gamers in the Middle East may be missing out on an enjoyable new game, perhaps EA has made a wise choice and possibly avoided negative reactions to a game with a sensitive religious context. If a release is not possible right away, perhaps the game might be distributable sometime in the future.

What do you think? Would the release of Dante’s Inferno in the Middle East have been so bad? Or was it really in the best interests of the territory and EA?

it’s funny the things that need to be considered when marketing and releasing a video game. it’s makes good sense not to release it in the middle east. i’m sure it would have caused a stir and been a bigger headache for ea than necessary. it’s unlikely it would have just been viewed as a piece of fictional art with gameplay.
